Introduction
Vidoby is EXAFABS' short-form video studio, live on the web at vidoby.com. It does two jobs that usually live in two different tools: it finds the hooks that are breaking out right now, and it turns the winning hook into a finished vertical video — script, AI presenter, voice, lip-sync and captions — without a camera or an editor.
It was built for the same reason the rest of this studio exists: one person shipping several products needs short-form video for all of them, every week, and does not have a film crew.
The Problem: Short-Form Video Is a Volume Game
Short video rewards consistency and a strong first second. Both are expensive. Filming takes time, editing takes more, and most of what gets made starts from a guess about what people will watch. Big accounts can afford to guess; a small product team cannot.
The useful signal already exists: some videos pull far more views than their creator's audience size would predict. That gap is the hook doing the work — and it is the thing worth learning from.
How It Works
- Goldmine — ranks short-form hooks by how far they outperform their creator's typical reach, so a small account doing big numbers surfaces ahead of big-account noise. Filter by niche, format and length; the feed refreshes daily.
- Remix, don't copy — Vidoby analyses a reference hook's structure (the scroll-stopper, the build, the payoff) and rewrites that shape for your product. It never republishes someone else's footage or words.
- Your facts, not invented ones — scripts only state what you write in your product description, and only link the address you give it. Or skip generation entirely and paste your own script, used word for word.
- AI presenter — a generated presenter (or your own consented face) in the scene you choose, lip-synced to the voiceover, in 23 languages.
- Your product in the shot — up to three demo clips play after the hook, with an optional slow zoom so a static screen recording still moves.
- Word-by-word captions — timed to the voiceover's own pauses, so the highlighted word lands when it is spoken.
- A/B variations and batches — up to four variations of one idea, or a batch across several hooks.
Honest by Design
- AI is disclosed. Outputs are AI-generated and labelled that way; the presenter never claims to be a real person or the founder.
- No impersonation. Prompts that name a real person or describe unsafe scenes are blocked before any credits are spent, and an uploaded face requires the uploader's consent.
- A quality check before delivery. Every render is inspected for problems like distorted hands, floating objects or lips out of sync, and failed jobs are never charged.
- Straightforward pricing. Everything is priced in credits, and new accounts start with 150 free credits.

The YouTube Channel: Built With Vidoby
The best test of a video tool is using it every week. The One Man Tech Startup — youtube.com/@theonemantechstartup — is EXAFABS' own channel, and every Short on it is made with Vidoby.
The channel teaches one practical thing per video and shows the product that does it. Each Short starts from a hook that is already working, keeps the lesson to about 25 seconds, and backs it with real numbers stated on screen with their assumptions:
- Money: The credit card minimum payment trap — why the minimum shrinks, and the one-line fix (Honest Debt).
- Nutrition: The hidden calories you never count — mayo, oil and dressing add up fast (FastAI).
- Creators: Is promoting YouTube Shorts worth it? — our own paid-promotion results, and the metric that matters instead (Vidoby).
Every video carries YouTube's AI label and says in its description that the presenter and voice are AI-generated. What the channel teaches us about hooks, retention and swipe-away rates feeds straight back into Vidoby.
